Abstract submission deadline is over.

Publication of a Clostridium difficile special issue of the Journal of Medical Microbiology

Following the great success of the Clostridium difficile special issues of the Journal of Medical Microbiology published from papers presented at the first and second International Symposia:

JMM 2005; 54, part 2 (http://jmm.sgmjournals.org/content/vol54/issue2/) and
JMM 2008; 57, part 6 (http://jmm.sgmjournals.org/content/vol57/issue6/)

the editor-in-chief (Professor Charles Penn) and the publishers (The Society for General Microbiology) have agreed to publish another special issue for this third symposium.

The authors of all papers presented at the meeting – invited and offered, oral and poster – will be invited to submit their work as a paper to JMM. All submissions will be handled exactly as for regular submissions, and will be subjected to stringent peer review. There is no guarantee of acceptance but we do hope as many authors as possible will submit their work. The final product will be a valuable resource for current research being done on C. difficile, as well as a useful record of the meeting. The main stipulation for submitted papers is that they must be original: the work must not have been published elsewhere before. Invited papers are more likely to be of a review nature and as previously we also hope to publish several reviews in this issue.

It is hoped that as many papers as possible will be submitted around the time of the meeting, but a submission deadline will be set for around 3 months after the meeting is over (end December 2010), and the issue should be published in mid 2011. To prepare your manuscript please check out the Journal website: http://jmm.sgmjournals.org/. The name of the special issue should be identified in the relevant section during the electronic submission process. JMM does not have a submission fee or page charges, and colour when deemed absolutely necessary by the editors, is also free of charge.
