7th International C. difficile Symposium

8th to 10th September 2020 Bled, Slovenia

Dear colleagues and C. difficile community
We are living in very difficult and uncertain times across the world, with the COVID-29 pandemic. As organisers of the 7th ICDS, we are following the situation closely and now accept that even if the medical emergency improves, at least some form of travel restrictions are likely to still be in place in September. We therefore anticipate that the 7th ICDS will be postponed. However, we have yet to finalise decisions and plans, as we are consulting with members of the community and sponsors on the most appropriate solutions. Please stay in touch and check our website regularly for more detailed information

Clostridioides (Clostridium) difficile is a leading cause of healthcare and community associated diarrhoea and increasingly a cause of disease in animals.

“International Clostridium difficile Symposium” – ICDS is a specific scientific forum at which the latest developments in the field could be presented and discussed. The rise in fundamental research is being mirrored by efforts focused on applied aspects and  commercially-orientated R and D activities aimed at improved diagnosis, more effective treatment options and new intervention strategies.

The 1st meeting was held in Kranjska Gora in 2004, the 2nd in Maribor in 2007, while all further meetings were in Bled in 2010, 2012, 2015 and in 2018. The ICDS is now established as the premiere venue for the review of C. difficile research.
